Title: Verity
Author: Colleen Hoover

Release Date: December 7, 2018
Pages: 324
Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.
Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity's notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn't expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity's recollection of what really happened the day her daughter died.
Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen's feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife's words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.
My Thoughts
Lowen Ashleigh is currently a struggling writer. Needing to make ends meet, she accepts a job offer from Jeremy Crawford, husband of best-selling author Verity Crawford. Her job is simple: finish Verity's book series from before she was hurt.
The world was her manuscript. No surface was safe.
Going through Verity's manuscripts and notes, she uncovers many things including an autobiography. But what she doesn't expect to find is the disturbing facts of Verity's life inside before the accident.
After all, this is a house full of Chronics. The next tragedy is already long overdue.
As Lowen falls hard for Jeremy, she realizes his life isn't as simple as it seems. But with Verity's manuscript in hand, she might just have the advantage on the situation and come out with a win on both her books and her love life.
I think the idea of me is better than the reality of me.
Star Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3)
First off, just wow, Truly terrifying to the core, I got goosebumps all throughout the novel. I finished it so fast too in like a couple of hours because I was eager to find out what the truth was.
I'm not sure how I feel about Lowen. She fell kind of flat as the main character and her relationship with Jeremy was not up to the regular CoHo standard. Verity, omg, she is so intriguing but creepy. Though there wasn't a definite answer to her end, I still found her to be super unsettling.
Overall, Verity was a seriously disturbing thriller. Not at all like regular CoHo books, I think fans of thrillers would definitely enjoy this book. It's also being adapted into a movie I think? I, however, will stick to my regular CoHo romances though.
