He'd never wanted anyone enough to chase them…until he met her.

Charming, easygoing, and rich beyond belief, Xavier Castillo has the world at his fingertips.

He also has no interest in taking over his family's empire (much to his father's chagrin), but that hasn't stopped women from throwing themselves at him…unless the woman in question is his publicist.

Nothing brings him more joy than riling her up, but when a tragedy forces them closer than ever, he must grapple with the uncertainty of his future―and the realization that the only person immune to his charms is the only one he truly wants.

***

Cool, intelligent, and ambitious, Sloane Kensington is a high-powered publicist who's used to dealing with difficult clients.

However, none infuriate―or tempt―her more than a certain billionaire heir, with his stupid dimples and laid-back attitude.

She may be forced to work with him, but she'll never fall for him…no matter how fast he makes her heart beat or how thoughtful he is beneath his party persona.

He's her client, and that's all he'll ever be. Right?

My Thoughts

Sloane is organized, ambitious, and won't settle until she is the best at what she does. No matter what situation she comes across, she somehow always finds an answer to her problem. Xavier is the opposite of Sloane. He's chill, friendly to everyone, and a big flirt, the definition of a golden retriever.

Whenever I was drowning, she was my anchor in the storm.

As the two spend more and more time together, they realize that after all maybe loving someone isn't a bad thing. Will they be able to put down the walls around their hearts and love once and for all?

Every version of my happily ever after will always include some version of you.

Star Rating: ★★★★☆ (4)

By far, this book shows the greatest character development especially for Xavier. I think it's sweet how one is willing to grow for another person, to become better each day for a chance together at the future.

Also the nickame Luna?! SO sweet and meaningful. The way I would die if I had a nickname like that. This shows how much care and thought Xavier has towards Sloane and it was just so so wholesome to read about.

Overall, King of Sloth was kind of unexpected as I feel it was a little different from the rest of the series. Still the golden retriever mmc x the black cat fmc was just wonderful to read about and I highly highly recommend to everyone even if you didn't love the other Ana Huang books!
