It's crazy how fast this year has gone by. Reflecting back, it's been five years since COVID-19, I've closed a chapter of my life and opened a new one, I've attended three schools now. Anyways, final post! Overall, my reading has been quite enjoyable. My goal for 2026 is to continue to read purely for myself. It's definitely harder to these days but I'm still going to try. These are a few books I would recommend from my reading this year and once again, happy reading and happy New Year!
1. The Summer I Turned Pretty Series by Jenny Han.
Technically I did say in my My Top Books Read In 2022 list that this book was one of the best. And do I still stand by it? Of course. The final series on Amazon Prime came out this summer so you knew I reread the books in preparation for the season finale. Once again, Jenny Han is one of my comfort authors and I just love her writing!
2. Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood.
Ali Hazelwood writes amazing romances but OMG this one is by favorite so far (the review will come soon!). And I know we're not supposed to judge books by the cover (we all still do anyway) but her covers are always so so beautiful. They're captivating to the human eye and I'm just always so drawn to them.
I have waited SO long to read an Ann Liang book. And I know I'm not in high school anymore but everyone raves about her so I knew at some point I'd want to pick up one of her books. I'm so glad I did the past summer because the academic rivals to lovers was rivaling. I really enjoyed the snarky comments between the characters and overall Liang's writing.
4. Kings of Sin Series by Ana Huang.
I reread Ana Huang's Kings of Sin series as King of Envy was coming out this spring. I just can never put her books down once I start and reading them pulls me into another alternate reality. Instead of being in school, it's like I'm on the East Coast right beside Vivian and watching everything play out. Honestly, it's a nice escape from the real world.
